I cannot thank you enough for the excellent care and courtesy I received in relation to my matter. My grandchild is a very happy little girl thanks to your efforts of keeping her out of the care system.
Thank you very much for your help in assisting us with obtaining a Special Guardianship Order for our granddaughter.

Solicitor – Child Care & Adoption
Sam qualified and joined Ridley & Hall in August 2010 having completed her training contract at a niche family firm in Leeds. Sam is a member of Law Society’s Children panel.
Since qualifying, Sam has focussed her attention on representing parents and relatives in care proceedings, especially grandparents, aunts and uncles. She also represents relatives who would like to apply for a Special Guardianship Order to secure the placement of their relative’s child with them after the child’s parents could not cope.
As well as representing parents in care proceedings, she also represents them when there is a dispute between the parents about where a child should live and how much contact they should be having with the non-resident parent. She also assists grandparents in obtaining contact with their grandchildren after the parents have separated as they can be the forgotten party.
Sam also provides advice to prospective adopters and represents them through the adoption process. She is also working with a specialist team at Ridley & Hall offering advice to people who have already adopted but who are struggling to care for their adopted children due to lack of support. Sam and the team look at what support has been offered to the adopters to see if more could be added to prevent the placement breaking down.
Sam has a down to earth approach with her clients, putting them at ease at a difficult time of their lives. She explains the process clearly and effectively to her clients so that they understand what is happening and why.
In her spare time Sam likes to spend her time equally between her friends and family, shopping, the gym (begrudgingly) and trampolining.
