
Helen joined Ridley & Hall’s Wills & Probate team in September 2013 and has over nine years’ post-qualification experience in her chosen field. Helen is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for the Elderly and the Private Client Section of the Law Society. Having been born in Huddersfield, Helen lives in nearby Saddleworth and has worked at firms in Leeds and Bury since qualifying as a solicitor in 2006, specialising in Wills, estate administration, powers of attorney, Deputyship applications and inheritance tax planning.
Helen has a particular interest in helping clients who have dementia, and their carers and families to ensure that they have access to legal services in what can be difficult circumstances. She is passionate about raising dementia awareness and is a Dementia Friends Champion, having delivered information sessions to businesses as well as individuals, getting over 130 people involved in the cause. This is an initiative set up by the Alzheimers Society and supported by the Cabinet Office and which aims to make 1 million people in England more dementia aware. As a volunteer, she has helped toform the Kirklees Dementia Action Alliance which encourages organisations to work towards becoming more dementia friendly through the services they deliver.
Outside of work, Helen tries to keep fit by running, swimming or entertaining her two Springer spaniels to try to balance out the effects of her other love – food!
